What order types are available?
The available order types are:
In-dollars: Place an order by dollar amount (e.g., $100). This is an order to purchase up to the dollar amount worth of contracts now at the best available price.
In-contracts: Place an order by the number of contracts (e.g., 5 contracts). This is an order that will fill up to the number of contracts as possible now at the best price.
These order types let you trade quickly and at the best available price. If your entire order can’t be filled right away, the unfilled portion will be canceled.
How do I place an order?
Explore available events on the home pages
Select a Yes or No contract based on your prediction for the event
Input the dollar amount or number of contracts you want to purchase. Use the dropdown to choose between Dollars and Contracts.
Confirm your order
Will my order always be 100% filled?
No, not always. If there isn’t enough liquidity at the best available price, your order may be:
partially filled, or
canceled entirely (if there is no liquidity at all).
Since orders can be filled across multiple price levels in the order book, your average execution price may differ from the price shown on the order screen when you submit.
When buying, your average fill price is often equal to or lower than the displayed price (i.e., you may get a better price).
When selling, your average fill price is often equal to or higher than the displayed price (again, potentially better for you).
Example
You’re looking to buy contracts. The current order book shows:
500 contracts available at the best ask price of $0.10
416 contracts available at the next price level of $0.12
Scenario 1: You place an “In-Dollars” order for $100
You get:
500 contracts at $0.10 → $50.00
416 contracts at $0.12 → $49.92
Total cost: ≈ $99.92
Average price: ≈ $0.11 per contract
Scenario 2: You place an “In-Contracts” order for 1,000 contracts
You get:
500 contracts at $0.10 → $50.00
416 contracts at $0.12 → $49.92
The remaining 84 contracts remain unfilled and are canceled due to the Immediate-or-Cancel (IOC) nature of the order
Total cost: ≈ $99.92
Average price for the filled portion: ≈ $0.11 per contract
