Why was I asked to provide additional verification?

Updated over 2 months ago

To meet regulatory requirements, we may request additional information if your account activity reaches certain thresholds across OG and Crypto.com.

Additional identity verification (ID + selfie)

You may be asked to verify your identity again if you make:

  • $5,000 or more in crypto purchases using a credit or debit card within 7 days, or

  • $10,000 or more in combined crypto and cash deposits within 24 hours, or

  • $20,000 or more in combined crypto and cash deposits within 12 months

If this applies, you’ll be prompted to upload a government-issued ID and complete a liveness selfie check.

Additional account questions (e.g. employment information)

You may also be asked to answer a few additional questions if you make:

  • $10,000 or more in cash deposits within 48 hours

These questions help us meet regulatory obligations and better understand account activity.

What if I’m asked to complete both?

In some cases, you may be asked to complete both identity verification and additional questions. If that happens, you will be guided through each step so you can continue trading once all required information is submitted and approved.

Important to know

  • These checks are required by regulations and don’t mean there’s a problem with your account.

  • You’ll only be prompted when required, and all instructions will appear directly in the OG app or website.

Note: If you encounter any difficulties, please contact us at [email protected] or start a chat at help.og.com.
